Starting Successfully on Monday: Counting Down

Y’all I am having a hard time dealing with the fact that my sweet Hayley  has 8 full days of kindergarten left. She’s counting down the days until summer and I’m counting down the days until I can sleep past 6 on the weekdays. I guess it’s good to have a goal in sight but that doesn’t make it easier. Last week I asked her about her favorite things about kindergarten and got some great answers. I have to say my favorite thing about kindergarten has been watching her grow and make friends. She’s becoming more of her own person every day.

This week is full of fun for her at school, there is a big field trip day on Thursday and a talent show on Friday, then she’s headed to her Red Granny’s for one on one time. As busy as her week is going to be mine is looking pretty laid back. Which is good because that means more time for my blog.

Scripture of the Month:

Romans 12:2~ Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Focus of the Month:

I am continuing to focus on my serving my husband this month. My goal is to do the little things he ask me to do without attitude just because I’m tired or being interrupted. He does so much for us that giving back to him and making him feel appreciated is the least I can do. I plan on cooking him a few special meals this month, picking up things he needs but doesn’t’ think to ask for from the store, and just showering him with love.

Listening to my iTunes with a sleeping dog in my lap. I’ve been for two walks already and tried starting laundry but there is no water. Come to find out AT&T hit a main water line while adding some polls. Hopefully it’ll be turned on again before I have to cook dinner.

We have a 15 month old after 16 years for me and 22 years for my husband. We’re kind of looking forward and dreading the day she goes off to school for the first time. Not sure what we will feel.

I love that you are continuing to focus on serving your husband for the month. I find so much joy in serving my family, versus allowing myself to be tricked into feeling as though I am a maid or not appreciated.

Love the pictures! I agree on killing a water mocassin. They are nothing to mess with. My oldest is counting down the days left of school as well!

Your to-do list reminds me of the fact that I REALLY have to start organizing and filing my life away. My desk looks like it was hit hard… Papers everywhere!

I know–it’s crazy how fast the time goes :( Hope you are enjoying the last few days of your daughter’s current routine!
